After watching some crazy stunts me and my mate decided that we don’t want to be so lame anymore and we want to practice (learn) some wheelies, stopies etc. We want to do it tomorrow if anyone wants to join
And now the question- do u know any good place to do it in London area? With no police, heavy traffic, good tarmac, no speed humps…I live in EC1 and it’s impossible to find a place like this there.
Any ideas?Where do u guys from AWOL and 444Ryderz practice?
There are a few places I have in mind. There are lots of industrial estates around the ace cafe area and some others around wembley. Not going to name exact places on here but pm me or have a chat at the ace if you see me.
Google Earth might be a good place to look for a quiet, safe area. You can zoom right in on London and check out the carparks. Apparently they keep increasing the quality of the zoomed-in pictures.
So we managed to find a good place, it was quite far - Woodford. Old practice ground of the motorbike school, good tarmac, spacious. We’ve been there for about 2h practicing wheelies, stoppies etc. (I still can’t manage to keep my front wheel up though:angry Everything was ok , but after lunch break a guy arrived saying that this is private property and it’s too dangerous…So we have to find something else next time
It’s exceptionally hard to find anywhere that will last, let alone that will give you permission to use the land. Every bit of land in London is owned by someone, and the land owners are responsible should any accidents happen, making them liable in court. People just won’t risk it.
There was a road in becton where they filmed wheelies in the hood, near the british gas works, don"t know if that"s still on.Also there"s the spot in croydon,I was up there all day one sunday,no hassle.Anyways if anyone is up for some practice pm me,this is my first thread on this site,so howdy.
If people clubbed together then landlords could be offered some money to officially let people ride somewhere with nice big expanses of tarmac without the normal problems, a bit like trackdays, just without all the corners.
Insurance disclaimers, StJohns ambulance etc could all be sorted easily enough
Where i am there"s alot off old dis- used runways, one in particular that i looked at a few months ago,it"s on the jct where the m25 meets the A3. Bisley airfield,it all depends on who owns it,if it"s a local farmer i"m sure he could do with the cash.Judging by what wheelie schools charge £200 a day & there"s 4 pupils = £800 minus instructors wage & fuel,i reckon £500 for the day & if we can get 10 riders £50 each.If i can get enough interest i"ll find out who owns it,no farmer is goona turn down £500 cash for the loan of a bit of tarmac.
If your interested let me know,or if you know of anywhere, but where gonna need at least 10 riders.
Yes, I am interested, I am just 5 miles round the 25 from you so local even better ! I was thinking about Blackbushe airport, it is massive, they have car auctions, acres of space, and a go kart track, one of the very few that will allow you to run [proper] 2 stroke karts, so noise is unlikely to be the killer. I will try to find out the owners details, but am away seeing the inbreds, sorry, inlaws, in Norway for the next week, so will get back on this afterwards.
Yo billy, still have that footage of ya at ace,I sent it to sparks to host, but it looks like he kept it to himself
ka05 blackbush is literally 5 mins from me,but until we can get 10 riders,it really all depends on what we have to pay.I"ll make some enquires & post up what happens.
