Where can I lear the how to of classic bikes ?

Hello guys , i’m new here , on this forum , in London and in the uk too !
I’m interested in learning nearly anything about how to rebuild , restore , service and build classic bikes and I wanna know if you are aware of a place where I can do that ?
I dont mind to just look at people working as long as they are not bothered by that , I’ll be happy to learn that’s all ! My mechanic skills are nearly equal to zero , I can do the basic servicing of a modern bike , change a rear shock or the fork oil but I never opened a motor and just have basic knowledge of what’s inside ^^
Even if it’s not about classic bike , any knowledge will be good to take

My request can be a little vague but I really dont know any name of any shop or garage, that’ll be a great help for me to start my search !

It’ll be a good starting point to buy a bike and strip it but as I dont have a garage i’m not able to do that :frowning:

If you are just a regular biker that want to share a little bit of knowledge with someone willing to learn please dont hesitate , i’m the right guy !

The best way to learn old classics is to go buy a cheap one and amanual then start pulling it apart . I am supposed to be going to pick up another 2 classics quite soon … Z750 and a CB900 both 70/80s bikes … Not sure exactly aint seen them yet . Both are non runners . I will be pulling them apart but it will be done pretty much how it would be done if you did it and the same way I did it the first time … Open manual … and begin . Manuals are the greatest thing in the world if I was you I would go and buy a manual for ummm saay Honda CB750 and have a good read . If you think you can cope go and find the bike to match the manual .

The problem is that I dont have any space to work as I said ! I cant imagine opening the motor on the street :o

I have a garage but the only engine thats in bits is not in the garage … Its on the dining table

Speak with Matt at the OMC

I’ve just sorted out what is the OMC , great idea !
I’ll maybe get there someday to chat a bit and have a look , thanks for that address

Seems to be an echo in here

You tube is a great resource, but theres no substitute for getting down and dirty, you will rarely see a used manual without oil on it!!!. Hope you find someone that will help.
