Where are the best places to find second hand bikes ?
I thought about :gumtreeebaylocal shops in London (Metropolis, Infinity, any others?)
any other ideas ?

I like eBay. Don’t know why I just do. MCN isn’t bad either.
biketrader.co.uk has alot of the dealers used bikes in there…
autotrader has a bike section, thats where i got mine from.
i printed out 4 when i went to the dealer and he dropped the price to match the cheapest. (never told him it was in Blackburn)
Gumtree is apparently full of crooks. Chiswick Honda always have few on their site. Probably at a premium price but they’ll be nice and shiny. Some of them are part exchanged bikes that they supplied originally.
Personally I wouldn’t recommend buying from a friend / aquaintance but you might have better luck than me.
Yup got both my bikes from ads there… 
Beware of Gumtree, you get a lot of stolen stuff from there. I’ve bought both my bikes off eBay. Model/make-specific forums can also be good for finding a specific bike.

Many thanks for your tips, I had a look at autotrader/biketrader, pistonheads, and MotorCycleNews,
and there’s far more bikes than on ebay/gumtree, that’s great.

If you’re after a special make of bike, you might join an owners club and ask there if a member has one for sale?
