when do you MOT?

The scooters tax disk is up for renewal by the end of March. And i have just got it insured in Feb.

It was registered at the end of April (3 years ago) so I got a note that it needs to get an MOT.

My question is: do you need an MOT if you have taxed and insured the bike? :ermm:

i.e do i need to get the scoot MOTed in end of April even tho I will have 11 months or road tax left and 10 months of insurance
or do i wait until i need to renew the two (road tax, insurance) and then get the MOT done?

Thanks

MOT is independant to everything else; it means your bike is roadworthy. You need it as soon as your vehicle becomes 3 years old… so yes u will need an MOT in April.

thanks for that!

It’s actually very useful to have the Tax due before the MOT.

Good point [bjimc** .

Unfortunately a lot of Post Office staff say thet there needs to be 14 days of MoT left after the start of the new tax disc before they will issue the thing. Complete borrocks but they seem to have this fixed in their minds.

I just try different Post Offices.

I’ve also bought a six month tax disc to stagger the insurance/tax/Mot conundrum.

You can buy your road tax on line and it comes in the post. It’s really easy.

You can always do what i do and buy a new bike then sell/Px it before it gets 3 years old

you can have your scoot mot"d end of march and have 13 months
