Whats your ideal job?

The promotion I’ve just applied for would be my ideal job - I’d still get to do casework, but with more diverse other activities too. Keeping everything crossed at the moment… :satisfied:

What country are you considering for VSO? You have to apply for VSO places a long time in advance.

Volunteer work in Africa, would be also my thing, but as I know myself I would drift into starting businesses and small shops (Yes, I am more productive, outside Europe, don’t know why). Therefore I would say having some commercial projects running (getting me a minimum of USD 3,000-5,000 per month) and help volunteers with organisational things as much as possible.

Let me share with everybody what is your motivation :D:

I’ve got to admit that I’ve had a pretty interesting life so far. 8 years military, followed by 3.5 years as a bodyguard. Now moving on, looking for my next buzz etc… The grass is always greener, but that’s why you always refresh your camouflage! :stuck_out_tongue:
My ultimate job would be an author. Started a book some time ago, but haven’t managed to finish it yet.
RR

author ???

whats that 'Nathans guide to the world best pie shops ’ ?

thought you’d applied to be a taster for ginsters !!!

Should be a best seller, right after “Confession’s of a London Copper”!!!..:w00t:

Do you have to work a week in hand for that?:hehe:

Nearly 8 yrs in the RAF but for the last 2 yrs I’ve been working as a civvy for the Met at one of their Vehicle Pounds…jobs ok, but my ideal job is SOCO…I’ll get there one day!

My ideal job is the one I’ve got, which is in disability / aid work. (Well I was too short, old and ‘beauty disadvantaged’ LOL to be an International Supermodel :stuck_out_tongue:  and not clever enough to be a doctor / solicitor and not talented enough to write a bestseller or act, sing or dance… could go on:D )

Have had amazing opportunities and learnt a hell of a lot in this field, have managed to have the luck and good fortune to live and work in China, Romania, Mongolia, Rwanda, Uganda, Papua New Guinea, Canada and next week - Afghanistan, from periods of a few months to 3 years.

(Kml, you mentioned VSO. I also worked for VSO with disabled peoples’ groups in Rwanda, helping them to get involved in the government’s Poverty Reduction Strategy, so if you’ve any questions about the application process etc for them, give us a shout)

Hels, from your recent posts I wrongly assumed you were in the forces.

What a fantastic job and I’m sure it takes a very special person to do what you do.

Good luck in Afghanistan. Stay safe.

i would like to be in the porn industry:D

Zeus - thanks very much for your good wishes - that’s very kind of you:D:D

Davedebbie - you old tart - get over to the Adult section and you may make some useful contacts with other like minded LBers who share your particular interests :D:D:D;)

taste tester for Galaxy chocolate or tester for Lego

Know a couple that have done it already, other half is mentoring a new guy that was property office, she’s been Forensics for 8 years now.

Just go for it

I always wanted to be a windsurf instructor. I could never be bothered doing the certification though as I was always rather out at sea.
And as there’s only so many friends/family to teach who aren’t bothered about the paperwork, there isn’t really much of a job

On the other hand, I love technology & programming, so being paid fairly well for it is very fortunate.
Although, I’d still rather be on a beach …

(looks through the window checking the wind) … who started this thread? you bastard!

gynecologist at an all girls boarding school …

I have to say I am bloody lucky with my DJing at the moment I do 3 nights a week and get just enough to pay all the bills and live a little, ok I have to deal with drunk muppets now and then but other wise I spend the rest of the time with my two beautiful girls and on the odd occasion I pop in to the studio and make the odd track here and there.

To make it a dream job I need to play in Fabric Charter house street then I will be a real happy bunny

An old thread, I know, but rather than start a new one, I was thinking about this.

I quite fancy being a cycle messenger

I think I would be a proffesional doggy belly rub operative. Giving wots of cudwels and hugz to wots of wovely puppies

:stuck_out_tongue:
