What tools do you have in your Box?

I’ve had a tidy up of my Garage and finally sorted out my tool box and chucked out all the old rusty tools and i think i need to treat myself to some new Tools as my Tool box looks a little bare now.

I have the obvious, Spanners, Screwdrivers, Sockets, Torx set, Allen Keys/Sockets, Torque Wrench etc, but wondered if there are any other tools or “Specialist” tools that come in handy. I like to Tinker with my Bikes and so far haven’t come accross a tool that i need that i don’t have, but i have only done minor servicing and stuff on the Bike I used to be a Mechanic so i’m quite confident around engines but i haven’t worked in the trade for over 15 Years and now i’m getting more confident with my Fettling on the Bikes i would like to start doing more involved work but don’t know what tools i would need to cover all eventualities.

What tools do you Recommend to have in your Box for working on your Bikes?

Don’t need all that, the most important one is between your legs

Sorry its been a slow afternoon…

A fcuk off big hammer

Ermmmmmmmm

Not sure how to answer that.

Was it amongst the old and rusty ones you threw away? :w00t:

Haha was just about to ask that.

lol, yes along with the ones i don’t use anymore

a big rubber mallet.
an impact driver.
and as a bike owner, you should have a brake piston puller.

I never let my tools get rusty. that’s sacrilege! like having a blunt knife.

I use a grease gun
but I suppose a puller is a much

The card of a trusted mechanic…

My good (expensive) tools are always looked after but i have a Box full of cheapo Tools that have somehow got water in the Box so they have gone rusty, they are the ones i have got rid of

Sorry, I thought this thread was some kind of euphanism :ermm:

Not necessarily a tool, but stuff like copper grease and other lubes, plus old toothbrushes to help applying them

Must be married

Didn’t realise you was such a dirt box… +3.5

I assume you have a clutch locking/holding tool… i was going to say spanner but mines not a spanner.

Been using mine today taking the slipper clutch out the old engine…

Oh and had a plus point today, whilst tinkering with the old engine i happened to find a Suter slipper clutch, i did have a slight panic moment and think what clutch has gone in my 560 and then realised this ones for the Superduke, i don’t even remember buying that. Best get it fitted hey.

Cant beat a bit of lube hey Nivag

Man-o-meter

Aye, especially when it’s a tight fit :hehe:
