Infinity are doing dicounts on race rep Arai Astro-R lids. I bought one and it`s the best lid i have owned. I also have a Shoei X-Spirit which is also very good, but the Arai is the best for comfort.
The Viper is a complete new model to replace the Signet GT’s. I have one and although I could never wear the Signets (wrong shape) the Viper is very comfy if very different in fit to the rest of the Arai range, but then again I own way too many lids just pop in and try one of each…any Arai is better than anything else Also try Suomy, as they are a very good fit (being a italian company and all) and have an amazing spec list for the price, and the best fog free visor around.
The reason HG don’t do Shoei anymore is because the managing directors of both companies used to be very good friends, one day they had an argument and that was the end of there friendship and business deal.
Stupid pride is why HG know longer sell Shoei both companies now lose out… but life goes on.
I rock a Viper GT it fits my sexy lil head perfect, wind noise is minimal even at speed and Arai are the best, my AGV Ti Tech look good and also fits well but I wouldn’t want to crash in it they just feel a lil cheap
The next lid ill get will be a Sumoy I tried a few down at BabyJ shop and they feel like a top lid
well I must be the odd one out, I have an Arai, and would never buy one again, the quality is crap, the pods fly off, wind noise is horrendous. I have also got a Ti-Tech, and it’s by far the best one I have ever had.
Your doing something wrong then…arai pods will only fly off if a) you take the visor off wrong or b) once they fly off you have not attatched them backon properly
Its a shame you find the quality bad, as I would not trust anything else on my head, and I do this for a living…bear in mind that Arai sponsered riders wether it be Colin Edwards or the guy from the local chipy use the same helmet that you or I could buy. Only Arai and Suomy have this level of confidence in their brand. Valentino Rossi gets his AGV’s custom made for racing…says it all for me. Wind noise…if your really that bothered then you should have bought a Schuberth…racers dont care about wind noise…and Arai are pedegree race helmets…invest in ear plugs.
I always wear ear plugs with wotever bike I ride, only time I dont is if I pop down the shops, but evenb with ear plugs u can hear the difference. Have also just bought a cheapie helmet - a caberb, and that is the quietest helmet I have ever worn!
Once saw a guy on his gleaming new monster, with a cheapie helmet on (cant remember which now) which cost about £100. The bikes replaceable, your head isnt!!
