What IS a short biker

What would you consider to be short for a male biker and is it any different for us ladies out there. I am now 5’ 3" ish I’m shrinking in my old age :crying: for a woman I reckon I’m definitely short. My daughter beats me at 5’ 1" ish.

What I would like to know is at what height do you lot consider you stop being considered as short biker and is it different for women to men.

I think that most Supersports bikes are made for people over 5 foot 10. But there is a bike out there for everyone!

Wow! How do they all fit on?

Ha ha. Snigger! :D:D:D:D

Wow 5’10" so if a male is say 5’8"ish and he wants a supersports he would be considered to short now that rules out a lot of men who may like to go down the supersports route. Thats a shame I say.

I know chaps who are 5 foot 7 and who ride SuperSports bikes, but without adjustment they have to lean the bike a long way over to feel comfortable. Many of the 08 Supersports bikes (CBR600RR, FireBlade) are much smaller than previous years so shorter people may win in the end if this trend continues!

Other half is 5" 2’ and currently rides an ER-5 that has had a slight mod to the seat.

She also uses the Daytona boots, Lady Star GTX, that have the internal 2.5 cm heel.

She want’s to upgrade to an ER6-F and it looks like there will be a mod needed to the rear suspension to lower it enough.

Im a short ass at 5’6 but i still ride a moto. I have to sit to one side of the saddle to get my tip toe down, never dropped it because of my hight though. Ive always road offroad/supermoto bikes so im used to the hight problem.

Im a short-arse at about 5’4, Never had many problems really, if you want something enough its amazing how humans will adapt and compensate…

I have owned Bandits Hornets, and now a ZX6R, couldent two foot any of them, you just have to shift your ass a bit,

a good tip for reversing up if you are too short to paddle, push forward with the front brake on to compress the forks then let go as they come out, use your suspension to push you back…

i suppose u could save money being short.

u could buy a mini moto for 150pound:D

So if your a bloke and below 5’8" generally you would be considered a short biker is that a fair comment? Is there any females of 5’8" that would consider themselves short bikers?

Hmmm I’m starting to come to the conclusion that it is all relative to what you ride. Would it be fair to say if you are not to short for your bike then you are not a short biker?

Just trying to settle an argument about how short is a short biker. Not sure there is an answer.

if mini mee was a biker he would be classed as a short biker:D

Depends on the bike, not the biker!

I’m 5’5" and think I’m a short rider as I couldn’t touch the ground on my FZS Fazer 600 until I took some foam out of the seat - now that I can get my feet on the ground I feel I have more control

I’m 5’4 which I don’t think is too short for a lady, my CBR600F was already lowered when I bought it which is handy as it’s my first bike so it’s good not to have to worry about not being able to touch the floor fully but I’ve had a go on quite a few other standard height bikes including some very nice thou’s, no trouble riding or touching the floor when I came to a stop

Maybe you have long legs but a short body

I am 5’4 and on a Daytona 955, had a few difficulties with getting my feet on the ground ao initially had the front forks dropped/lowered (not quite sure), but now able to get the balls of my feet down.

Would still like a bit more of the foot on the ground, so will possibly invest in some Daytona LadyStars.

Oh where is pay day???

OK so the answer is… there are no short bikers only tall bikes  :hehe: Thanks everyone for your contributions

well im 5’4 and ride a gsxr 750 tip toe lol

i am 5-7 and had to have my blade lowered a tiny bit
much safrer now though
