What can I do???????

OK, I live in Italy and have a briitish bike, with british plates. The MOT runs out August 10th.

Dont really wanna change plates as never get stung by speed cameras and if i get italian plates i have to get residency and then have to change my license which means they can then give me points - grrrr.

I need insurance for more than 3 months which is standard cover for Europe from most companies.

Who the hell will insure my feckin bike???#

And do i have to bring her back just to MOT her??

FFS, why is italy so fuggin complicated! :w00t::w00t:

Could you not insure it over the phone with a UK insurance company and give your folks address?

find some to gert you an oookey MOT

My second vote of the day goes to Equity Red Star. They are the insurance company, not the broker. If anyone can do it without it costing a bomb, its them! No matter who I have been through, broker-wise, they have been the most competitive quote. So now, having a trade policy, I just go direct.

Best of luck!

Limited to 60 days european cover grrrrrr

Yes but none of them do more than 3 months!!!

Cant you just ride back every couple of months?! :hehe: Maybe negotiate with someone to leave it over here if you want for a month of two over christmas etc? Id be willing to try and help with that?

Cost a feckin fortune - once you take into account fuel, accommodation tolls, and ferry, all in it costs about £300 - £350 each way. Not including the monimum of 2 days riding each way…

sorn for 6 months over here, then 2 3-month intervals of insurance over there?

Scrap it!:P:D

Just take helicopters everywhere like I do when I’m abroad.

When in Rome :Whistling:

She’s in Livorno Grim

Ah feck it, gonna ride it back home hehehehe!! SOmeone will cover me for the time it takes to get home and have a spin with the LBers, surely!

Alice,

Why not plate it in Italy, if you do the paperwork and go to the Consulate and tell them you just moved there from the UK and get all of it done/signed/paided in thirty days, no taxes - just the usual “fees” for the paperwork. Typically runs around 300 euros. Then you can insure it there (much cheaper) and when you return to blighty with it, easy peasy - just tell them your old reg and mot it.

I think you should become the new gost rider and try not to get caught by the police

Alice is always getting stopped by the police, mostly to give her their phone numbers;)

I had an eBike policy and I think you get 365 days European cover as standard. Or it might be an additional extra. Either way, they definately do it:
