Westminster Parking - RINGGO not allowing parking anymore?

Be careful, the way things go I wouldn’t be surprised if Ringgo check the old records and try and fine you for parking in the wrong place for the last 4 years.

T_cat,

Thank you for your answer.

I have not done anything wrong. I have used their app, and that app has previously accepted my vehicle. It will be their onus to justify their previous wrongdoing.

Haha, I’ll take that as a compliment, no one has ever called me a purist before.

I own a Piaggio 125 (two-wheeler), a Ducati, a car, am in a car club (have rented their vans several times) and several bicycles. I use whichever is the best for the purpose. I also use the bus quite often, occasionally the Tube, and walk a lot.

To be honest I never gave three-wheelers much thought. They just seem too wide and difficult to park. I already find the Piaggio 125 quite difficult to park around town, certainly compared to walking or cycling, I never considered making that problem worse.

But each to their own. If you enjoy them, go for it.

Hi

Excuse the intrusion (I am not a biker, nor in London), but this is the only place I could find that mentions the issue I’m having: Vehicle type not permitted at this location.

This is affecting a car (EV) that had no issues previously, but suddenly is unable to be selected for sessions at normal parking locations.

There’s nothing I can find on the Ringgo site about this.

Anyway, I found a workaround that may work for you.

Mine works fine for the affected vehicle if it’s booked on the site via the browser, rather than the app. Bit of a hassle, but at least you can park.

Emanuele, did you solve the issue in the end?

I just purchased a Piaggio MP3 lt 500 and having the same issue. Plus tfl asking me to pay Congestion charge… that’s a joke…

The clue is in the model name MP3 LT 500 where LT means Large Track, the front wheels are 465 mm apart which means it is not a SOLO motorcycle.

Out of curiosity are you piloting the MP3 with a car licence or a motorcycle licence?

Car Licence

I hate to say it but you could ride my Piaggio Liberty 125 on an L-plate and it is small enough to squeeze into any solo motorcycle bay. It’s also £70 a year to insure and runs for a month on a fiver’s worth of petrol.

So, just like @EmanueleF, you’re riding a Large Track three wheeler (not a twin wheeled) MP3 on a car licence, two clues right there why you can’t park it in a “solo motorcycles only” bay.
