Anyone live near the stadium? I checked the Brent council website and the matchday bit has no mention of motorbikes.
Any idea if bikes are allowed in the residential parking areas? Used public transport yesterday and won’t be doing that again…2 1/2 hours each way!
Cheers
Living very near the stadium but using a kindly neighbour’s drive for bike parking, the answer is “Don’t know but will find out”. Will try to remember to do it tomorrow.
According to the council employee we spoke to today by telephone, it is free for motorcycles to park in “pay & display streets” whether or not it is an Event Day.
There seems to be some confusion as to which bays bikes can park free in - some are “resident” and some are “designated” but how you tell the difference seems to be anybody’s guess.
If you are visiting someone in the Event Day Parking Zone on an Event Day you do not need a visitor permit for a motorcycle (which is lucky as we only get one per house so can’t have a BBQ or more than one visitor on Event Days).
The best thing to do is probably to ring them (020 8937 1234) beforehand to check the status of the road you intend to park in.
Or:
Ignore the above, give up watching football and go out on your bike instead:)
btw- maybe someone should put on a park and ride service from the Ace - could put people on the back of a bike and filter them through the traffic after the game.
