watch condensation

i have a fossil watch which is water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet.
the other day i forgot & took a hot shower with it on, & now i have noticed a condensation/droplets/mist on the inside of the screen.
i thought it was water resistant?.

any suggestions on how to get this mist to fade away?.
watch is working fine.

thank you.

The droplets or caused by the heat of the shower and not from the water itself, just like codensation on a window.

Yeah, but there suppose to be vacuum in the watch itself isn’t?

Dodgy watch then…

How old is it? Could the seal have perished? Has the battery every been changed? If so, was it done by a watch professional using new seals?

That would be my suggestion too

had it since november 06!.
gift.

I have had my Fossil watch since given it in September 2002. It has never shown signs of condensation despite being worn all day, left in the bathroom every night, and has got very wet several times. I have never swum in it, but might have showered in it, I can’t remember!

It has had a new battery, which I paid a watch repairer £20 to do including new seals. It has proved a good watch and would cost much more than £20 to replace with something as good.

People and these all singing all dancing watches !!!

what ya doing with it anyway ?

If you was under three hundred and thirty feet of water …the last thing your going to want to know is the flippin time mate !!

I used to havea mate that broke his…he used to stand in the pub rubbing his wrist and moaning that he felt lost without it !!!

“what it have on it…a fooking compass” ??? !!!

It’s a sneaky con by watch manufacturers… if you read the little booklets they point out that water resistant means just that… resistant, not waterproof even if it’s to 50m.

I think (and I could well be wrong… there is a lot of useless info in my head and it sometimes gets muddled up) it’s a sliding scale… not water resistant, then resistant to splashes; hand washing; showering; throught to swimming (down to about 3m) and then fully waterproof (for diving).

Yes, the ratings are a con, but static 100m should survive a shower at sea level.

i will.
where’s the blame; theres a claim!.
lol.

take it to a decent jewellers/watch shop and have it dried and then a new seal fitte, sorted my citizen dive is pushing 20 .yrs old it has a battery and seal every 5 years whether it needs it or not and has spent years in sea water and showers without fault, well not quite…the animal strap rots through and has to be changed every 2 years :stuck_out_tongue:
