Okay folks get ready for the new dodgy scam I’ve just witnessed.
Silver van pulls up ouside our shop with ‘‘Authorised Motorcycle Removal Unit’’ written on the side. The driver jumps out runs across the road to the bike bay and proceeded to read out the regestration marks of all the bikes parked in the bay that are unlocked, and then runs back across the road and scampers off.
Now why would the council be doing that then…'tis not like they dont rape us enough as it is…now they are gonna start stealing bikes too
Oh I saw that van when I was out side your shop about a month ago, are they actually picking the bikes up because the van just drove off and I never saw it again?
Oh and what if it wasn’t the council and just a smart crook who spent a few pennies on decaling up a silver van???
This reminds me of a thread that was posted about Oxford ? and it was either the Police or Council taking reg details… Cant remember the rest … Although like you say it could just be a potential tea leaf…
Could be but he had a Westminster council ID round his neck, I’ve emailed Westminster and are just waiting for a reply. We have had a few people who have had their bikes removed and imponded due to not displaying a tax disc…even though they had valid tax on the bike. Oh and it only cost £350 to get their bike back too!
Nah…he wasnt speeding anyway didnt get his reg number, but if I see him again will defo call the pigs…sorry police …and leave a message on their voicemail
Right, it IS council, they’re checking “number” of bikes locked in each bay, so that when the vote comes up as to whether to include Security Measures int he “benefits of charging bikers for parking” debate which is currenlty on going, they have accurate numbers of bikers that use locks…if this number OUTWEIGHS the number of bikers that do use locks, then they will be able to successfully argue that why do we need security measures if locks aren’t even being used…
