Got it!
any chance you got a link if you got it cheap haha i could do with one got throw lv 1 and 2 without one but reckon i need one for lv 3 lol
I initially read that as ‘Hitlers-motor-vehicle-engineering-book’
Thought you were looking for a copy of ‘Mein Kampfervan’
Ross I have book 1… I can send a copy but Im not a show off like Scorch and have NO idea how to share a dropbox link!:pinch:
I’d be interested in seeing book 1.
Dropbox is free, you get 2gb of sharing space
ps: If you run into problems with your course let me know. I can help with the maths/engineering stuff
I know how to use dropbox via drag and drop. but I dont know how you share a link, I only know how to invite people into a box.
Iv just started level 3, I havent even done 1 OR 2 so my confidence is alot lower than the lack that I normally have with engines anyway! But my tutor reckons il be better off jumping straight into LVL3 with the little knowledge I have along with working twice as hard and drilling the main parts of LVL1-2 in at the same time. (Wish me luck)
Also the students on LVL1-2 seem like real twits! I was on Lvl 2 for 1day and i was transfered to Lvl3. So… Saying that I will probably need ALOT of help from alot of people. So thank you in advance SCORCH!
Engineering texts can be tough to read. I found that the following helped when I was at university:
Use a highlighter, even if you highlight almost everything, it still brings the text to life and reminds your brain that you’ve read it once before.
Buy some colouring pencils and colour in the diagrams and graphs. Coloured fineliners are helpful too. Come up with a system as to what each colour represents and stick to it (e.g. formulas in green, definitions in blue).
Make notes in the margin in pencil (or with coloured fine liners), again when you come back to a section you’ll be drawn to the part you had to think through the first time.
You may need to read some sections several times before they make any sense. If you’ve just read something and thought “WTF?” have another look at it later after you’ve been to the gym or gone out for a walk and it will start to come together. With engineering there is no substitute for time. It’s not easy or everyone would be doing it. Give yourself the time to take it in and understand it. Like exercise this is easier after a while when your brain gets fit.
If you follow the above, then towards you exams you’ll have a text that is fully defaced with notes, highlighter and coloured diagrams. You’ll start to recognize it as your own and the knowledge will be in your head not just on the page.
I hope that helps. Oh one other thing, Engineering is hard. If your finding it hard that’s because it is hard. Don’t be disheartened, keep your focus as it’s very rewarding when it all starts to click…and after your exams you can get wasted to flush out the knowledge and make room for some more.
Oh one final thing. Make use of the library to study, whether that is at college or near your house. Pack up the things you need for the day, maybe take some chocolate and a bike magazine for breaks and stay there all day. It’s motivating to be around other people who are also studying and it’s easier to focus. Working from home is difficult unless you are extremely disciplined and don’t get distracted by the obvious… There are fewer distractions in the library and it distinguishes your work environment from your home environment.
Go to your dropbox folder, right click the file you want to link to, and choose ‘dropbox’, then ‘copy public link’. You can then use right click/paste to copy the link.
Excellent advice from Joby, all my text books are littered with my own scribbles and additional info.
Don’t get ‘stuck’, if you find yourself struggling with something then get in touch before it becomes an issue.
Thnaksfor theadvice JOBY! I will keep it all in mind,
SCORCH, its just uploading…
Thank you for all the tips.
Got it, cheers m8
Does your copy still work?
Seems like my time period has expired
How f*cking retarded
No, something about connecting to Dawsonera.com to collect anonymous usage data?
MOTHERF*CKAS!
Dawsonera.com is the thing at college for me o get books online, but when i downloaded it it said i only have it for 4 days. whichis stupid!
Im gonna talk to my tutor tomorrow see if he can give me a copy that isnt restricted
Sorry bud
No problem m8.
When you get another copy, we can always just copy and paste the data into another document.
Cool
