after all the recent bike thefts i think its time i got 1, anyone got one they dont want or can recommend a good one??
http://www.motrax.co.uk/index.php?page_name=product&product_id=1777A few of my mates have this (and have tried to get it out of the ground in quite a few differents manners and still secure) think they cost about £20 or so, site also tells you your nearest dealer!edit- Their site show’s price at £89.99 - from memory J&S had them at 19.99 or 29.99
I’m in a similar position. Thank for the heads up on that one Sean.
What about this one? http://www.yanchor.com/The%20Y%20anchor.html
yes try www.anchorman.co.uk hes brill, he fitted my groundhog 3, its amazing!, and he chemically sealed it too!!, what with that and my almax chains i can sleep fairly easy…
You sure that’s the right link for Andy?
I think this is the one you were looking for --> http://www.anchor-man.co.uk/
I bought a Y anchor and fitted it myself - easy enough to do! Just dig a hole and set it in a good stiff mix of concrete, job done!
I’ll post a pic when I get home tonight - better than the bolt down ones I would say & cheaper than someone installing a not so secure one for you. Cost me £60 odd quid.
Heres a couple of pics of my Y anchor install
thats spot on m8, the y anchor. 1 tip for ya though, if ya go out on bike etc cover it up or summat. You know how crafty these thieves can be and if they have targetted yer bike they could wait for you to go out and fill the holes up.
I like them y anchors.
Thought i had though, get some box steel tubing stuff, bolt/chemical seal it to flor and yer chain can go through the middle also covering the bolts. should be able to get a cheap bit.
Yeah good point! My car would normally be moved over the holes when Im out on the bike but its in being resprayed at the moment
Would be fairly easy to make your own aswell if you have or know someone with the equipment, the part that goes in the ground could be a bit longer but with the ammount of concrete its set in, its not going anywhere
