Want to move out of London

surely council tax cant be higher than Ealing!! :ermm:

I was born in Pembury and lived in a little village called Ticehurst ( still have familly in Wadhurst ) and all around that area is really nice ( would move back down there if I didn’t have to commute to Coventry every day !! )

Think " Darling Buds of May " ala Pop Larkin ( if you can remember TV back that far ) and you’ve got pretty much that sort of area .

Nice place to raise kids I would imagine and some bloody good roads for riding !!

cheers fella,

Pembury & that area is becoming my no1 place to check out…

i lived in surrey 4 yrs, and soon as i get a chance im going back… Ive been round herts, bucks, essex, kent, but none compare to surrey.

It can get expensive, but no worse than london, and i found even the crappy parts were nice compared to allot of london!

plus box hill, newlands corner on your doorstep, lovely roads, countryside, and hlf hr from london

Too True.

grate schools

not many parking restrictions

romford shopping grate too

take a ride out & see:)

I’ve been in Walton On Thames for nearly 5 yrs which is between Esher and Weybridge. Lovely having the riverside with pubs etc 5 mins walk, town centre 10 mins and station about 20. Bike commute into Soho varied between 35 and 50 mins and Kingston is 15 mins in the cage for a major shopping trip.

Previously lived all round SE/SW london and prefer this area by far. Easy to get the A3 into Wandsworth or A316 into Hammersmith or onto M25 or M3 if heading off somewhere fun (Box Hill is 15 mins in the dry).

My personal opinion obviously, but this website is pretty useful when searching schools/house prices etc and general stuff http://www.aboutmyplace.co.uk/ just get onto the maps and click the key on the left to highlight it - it’s got birdseye view as well so you can have a decent look round an area;). 3/4 bed semis for around £250-280K or nice 2 bed houses for a bit less.

vote #2 for letchworth as we spoke about. UK’s first garden city, close to all the amenities you could want.

and if you want to party in london, the last train home is at about 2am

There are some nice towns in Herts…

Great schools?

From Essex to London Bridge about 40 minutes if not less, straight down on the A12. Train to Liverpool Street about 30 minutes… then again I wouldn’t mind having my old job, would take me exactly 10 minutes by car on the A127:( and Friday half days…

she works at London Bridge as well

Sanderhurst, yately area. I live in-between them in Blackwater and we love the area. Straight down the m3.

May be a bit late for it, but there are some houses around where I live (Horsley) that are looking pretty good for the price. 10/15 mins from Guildford station, which is direct up to Waterloo, most ar semi or fully detached, almost all with garage.

I’ll have a gander in the estate agents in the Village when I pop out to get the milk later! Village life is ever so quaint.

Plus, I could do with more bikers to hang out with around here

def not late… we aint gonna start looking till summer. at the moment i am researching locations

Just an update on this.

On Sunday we did a small tour of the Kent :stuck_out_tongue: went to Sevenoaks (nice) Tonebridge (crap*) Pembury (loads of mobility scooter stunters! :w00t: ) East Grinstead (was ok) and then went to Godstone, Oxted, Redhill, Croydon (by accident) Sutton,Cheam, Surbiton, Kingston and home!!

TW and Sevenoaks looked the best!

*hope i didnt offend anyone :Whistling:

Absolutely recommend Sheerness for a number of reasons. Dirt cheap property, they need your children’s genes because most of them are inbred, and the biggest fireworks display in Europe waiting to go off just offshore, aka the SS Richard Montgomery. What’s not to like?

had my off just outside TW… the hospital wasnt very good :pinch:

have you been to Ealing hospital :Whistling:

I live in Carshalton, not sure about house prices but a couple of miles in one direction and you’re put in the sticks, and in the other is London. Its is easily commutable from here, though i have never done it myself, of there is the beeches train station just in the next street which also takes you right into london
