Off to Wales with the family in a few weeks, so thinking of taking advantage of some decent roads and places to stop and stare at the landscape. Obviously as it’s with the family it’s a four wheel affair.
Will be around Fishguard - Cardigan Bay area. Any recommendations of roads and places to stop on the way from London, and in the general direction we will be in? Know some folks used to go down with Ang and Mark back in the day.
Touring the 30 mile scenic route from LLandovery to Llanwrtyd Wells via Rhandirmwyn, The Devils Staircase and Abergwesyn.
Further North there is the 40+ mile BSA, Triumph Motors and Austin Motors test roads from Dinas Mawddwy via LLanymawddwy, Llanuwchllyn, Bala, Llanwddyn, a circular route around Lake Vyrnwy and the Vyrnwy Dam returning to Dinas Mawddwy via Llanymawddy
West coast Beaches are lovely but are going
To be busy and the access roads are mainly single track normally with caravan parks etc so can be a bit ‘fun’. ( Mwnt,Tresaith, cwmtydu are a few of the worst for this but spectacular scenic beach views )
Poppit sands are where you can walk among the dunes and a long expanse of sand
Thanks to @TimR as we were pretty much in West Wales and managed to get to a few of those spots. The Ferry Inn just up from Pizzatipi was excellent for Sunday Roast.
A nice stop off on the way was Baffle Haus on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, bit like Caffeine and Machine. Made it also to Barafundle Bay, bit of a trek but definitely worth it as one of the best beaches I’ve been to in the UK.
Hustling a fully loaded E Class estate down some of the roads was interesting at times, definitely would have loved being on the bike.
