This is the second time my Vespa 300 has been stolen from Lavington st on a Lorry from outside my office - bankside3 just of Southwark st - what are police doing to alert bikers
On a Lorry? Was it taken by council or DVLA, can’t see thieves using a Lorry, too slow and easily caught in traffic
Yeah peds are usually pushed a few roads down with other peds from behind or maybe a van but thief’s impersonating DVLA !
That’s a new one, however sorry for your loss mate.
my first instinct is: stolen = impounded
I used to work there, in the offices across the road. We’d get a request a month from someone asking for CCTV footage of their scooter being nicked.
I used to work around the corner - to be fair to Southwark council, they are pretty good at providing security rails to their bike bays. I think the Lavington St bay has one, as does Great Guildford street and the big one near Southwark bridge.
Sounds like it’s been impounded by the council/dvla.
If the first one was taken on a lofty too then that was probably also impounded…
How do you know it went on a lorry? CCTV? Was it the large bay or the smaller one? Or do you park on the pavement area behind the small bay? Could be the council if the latter.
Scratch that, just found out one of the guys who works here also had his stolen at the same time, and like the OP it’s the second bike he’s had taken from that bay. I was told it was a van rather than a lorry.
