Varta battery vs. Yuasa battery

After looking around for a new battery for my bike (the clocks keep resetting!), I was looking for a Yuasa but came across a Varta, which claims to be exactly the same, from the same factory, just a different brand and cheaper. Ebay item number is 290233978194

Has anyone used these varta batteries before? I dont know if its still the original standard one I have fitted, but even with it always on an Optimate 3, the clocks have reset, which is apparently a sign of weak battery. And I dont want to risk damaging the sprag clutch on the bike, theyre mega expensive!

Are they easy to fit? Do they come pre-charged, so you whack them in and off you go? I have a Meta alarm installed, will this affect switching them over?

you’ll need to put your alarm in service mode first (check manual on how to). remove battery then reconnect new one. easy peasy. dunno how easy it is to get to your battery? that’s as difficult as it gets. just disconnect the terminals whip the battery out and reconnect (positive first on reconnect).

edit: dunno about precharging. depends on type. don’t know about gel batteries but some/most? acid ones you fill yourself. follow instructions closely as incorrect filling can bugger it. then charge and ready to go…

Vartar are good make imho, the ones i have used no charging needed:)

varta are a fairly big name in the battery world now,
loads of manufactures use them, for example mercedes-benz use them as one of there battery suppliers.

normally when you by a battery (unless its a sealed vrla battery) it wont turn up ready filled,
instead you’ll get a acid pack, simply stick it in, top it up with distilled water, stick in on charge for afew hours and your away

I won’t use anything other than Yuasa

For Varta Batteries check out Longton Batteries think they’re competitive with £ etc.

There’s also some Yuasa, Lucas, Numax batteries etc as well as Varta.
