So he got taken out by a car turning across his path & face planted, breaking his nose, jaw & losing teeth.
Pretty much the same injuries he’d have got if he’d been wearing an open face lid…
24 years old and he buys a busa as his first bike, that was good thinking lol.

But not the 9 inch cut on the back of his head!! How many sports bike riders ride with open face helmet? Wasp in the nose at 70mph!! Nice
@Pat: very valid point. You’re doing an extremely good job about making me queasy about my open face lid. I was thinking the same when I read the article.
@seanybiker: true, but I don’t think speed was an issue here. he could have had that accident on a 125.
@londondrz: from personal experience, insects in the face at 60mph+ is irritating, but not life threatening. gives you hair on your chest. it’s more like pebbles in the teeth i’m worried about. maybe a boxing tooth protector or a hannibal lecter style mask would do the trick.
And, slightly off topic – what do you full-face freaks think about the Schuberth J1 with that jaw protection bar? http://www.schuberth.com/j1/kinnschutz.htm Best of both words but quite pricy. I might go motocross helmet b/c I like the goggles so much.
Bottom line about the story is though, this fool would have worn a full-face lid and decent trousers, he would have walked away and laughed.
tut tut. Im not oirishbiker . not fair. lol
Seriously though, you’re right he could of having the same crash on a 125.
He was a plonker for not wearing safety gear. Jaysus he goes out to play football with the steelers and he is dressed up like Mr Blobby just incase, then he goes on a Busa with feck all on him. Young people these days.
@seanybiker: ok sorry lad, i edited above post in order not to hurt yer feelings and who the f… is mr blobby?
