Ok so when are we going?
Agreed…sort it out jetstreams!!!
Really surprised the A9 is not on there, horrible road and goes constantly from Dual carriage to single lane repeatedly confusing the hell out of many who still think they’re on a dual when they’re not !!
Hmmm, most of those are in my neck of the woods, and have done several of them in the last couple of weeks.
The A621 to Totley is a lovely road.
sounds like a to do list
i’ve ridden the cat and fiddle a number of times and it really isn’t all that bad. the surface isn’t that great so you have to ride accordingly, visibility is pretty good aswell. only bad thing is its the main route across, so you get so much heavy goods traffic and grannies doing 30mph the entire length.
midweek is best in my experience as the nutters arn’t out
It’s an argument for making the Cat and Fiddle a dual carriageway the whole length, build some viaducts, put cuts in the hills. Ignore the English nature and Peak District purists. You need to destroy the countryside to make it safer.
285 Chichester to Petworth? It’s not that bad. More likely to die of chemical poisoning from the farmers spraying and then leaving mud everywhere.
I’ve heard of a tricky road between Colliers Row and Finchingfield that catches a few people out
:Whistling:
Really? Shall we try that one Sunday morning!:w00t:
You may mock, but:
… saying that, in terms of technicality, the road mentioned in the article is far from tricky.
hmm, i use the a285 to chichester quite often
We`ll do a few next Sunday:D
hmm cat and fiddle is not dangerous as well as any other “dangerous” road… its the people who use it who create the problems
C&F now it is boring due to the antics of others … it is now heavily policed by air and ground crews as well as cameras …and you have to endure the antics of those whose sole aim is to ride it hard and forget the other users …
there are more roads in that area that are not patrolled as much and give far more enjoyment …
same as anywhere …
The most dangerous roads or the most engaging ones?
The most dangerous roads or the best at testing the user’s skills?
The most dangerous roads or natural selection ?
Well, I cant speak for the other riders on * That Sunday Morning * ride out. But my cup is always half full and not half empty, so our regular route is the latter in most cases:)
According to the Saturday Torygraph, the most dangerous road in Britain is the 10 mile stretch of the A18 between Laceby and Uttersby.
There are a couple of pictures of the road (and a load of pretty much borrocks text) and it looks like a pretty average old English one track A road with a decent surface. Certainly better than when I drove the same road a “few” years back.
Conclusion? It’s in Licolnshire. But then maybe I’m biased.
Mel loves the finchinfield roads!
i loved our chat when we pulled up about ‘that corner that catches her out EVERY week, and has no signs!!!’
In fact: There are 6 HUGE yellow, white and red reflective signs warning of such sharp corner!
But syaing that, everytime we ride them roads Mel is getting LOADs better: Very proud!!
