Tyre disposal!

I have a few old tyres to dispose of and am a bit flummoxed. I thought it would just be a case of going to Barrow well green recycling centre. But they don’t take tyres.
Anyone got any legal ideas.

the only way would be to drop them off at your local tyre depot (when they are shut)

My local recycling centres in Watford take tyres.

Wise, are you encouraging fly tipping?

find a local art college, they might be interested in them

Waltham Abbey, Recycle for Essex, Brooker Road, Waltham Abbey, EN9 1JU

You can take up to four car tyres per household. That’s Essex County Council residents, you may have to tell a little white one! Note too they have a restricted vehicle policy there. Vans, pick-ups and other commercial-type vehicles, including those privately owned, are not allowed to use the site. Customers attempting to park prohibited vehicles outside the site and carry waste in get turned away.

nope I dump my tyres at the quik fit around the corner from me they have a skip they put them in

Paintball in centers sometimes want them too, and some council tips

Potatoes :potato:

@ You’rebarred. Thanks but have no interest in growing Spuds.
@ NT. Cheers. Think when I get a chance I will pop over to Waltham abbey.

Why not do this instead?

custard has been called ;-)

Take them to a local allotment. They are handy for growing spuds in

Cost about £20 for all the bolts and washers, tyres were free and so were the bricks. Heavier tyres at the bottom with bricks in them. Be hard pushed to knock it over.

Difficult bit was marking up all the holes to drill the through the tyres and then finding the holes again to put the bolts through afterwards. Thats about chin height for me and i’m 6’4".

brilliant idea
