Well actually more than two questions, and advice greatly welcome
I have been offered a GPZ500…for free…needs MOT/TAX and a bit of TLC…but needs to be collected from Wales
Question 1 - What do the bikes ride/handle like ? Does anyone know anyone that has restricted one ?, i am 5’ 2" and have been told that its a nice low bike and great as a second bike after a 125.
Question 2 - Will need to be picked up from South Wales (Swansea area) anyone know of a decent firm to do this ?
Good bike if you are moving up to “bigger” bikes from 125, although there are more modern equivalents like the sv650 which would be better, but as it’s free, it’s not to be sniffed at.
I had a gpz for 3 years. I think there are a couple of LB’ers who have one (seen a reddish one at cubana and brazen before now).
Cant help you on the transport though, other than going over there yourself and riding it back, although MOT and tax might cause a prob in that respect.
Can’t help you with the GPZ as I’ve never ridden one, but while looking at bikes on ebay there seems to be a few firms that deliver bikes.
An ad quotes this mob; “Nationwide delivery is available through A&G services, contact them direct for a quote 07908 719683 or [email protected]” so they might be worth phoning, but I can’t vouch for them.
I used to have a gpz500 and I used it everyday to commute. It was restricted for most of the time I had it. I did almost 30k miles over 3 years and it was really reliable. I’m 5ft2 as well and I had the seat scooped and could then get both feet down easily. It was quite comfy too.
Not sure if my car has a tow bar, let me check! If it does and we borrrow a trailer, I will be making 2 trips to South Wales and back between xmas and the New Year. You’re more than welcome to tag along on one of them so we can bring the bike back.
Hiya, Karen has one and she loves her baby, I don’t think she is much taller than you and can reach the floor properly.
Everything inside me is screaming, go and get it. Then you can come for ride outs and won’t have to worry about the 125. It’s free!!! When are you looking to pick up? Could give you a lift down and ride back with you? or does it need to be picked up by van?
Needs to be picked up by van, needs MOT/Tax and a new battery for starters…and a bit of TLC when i get it home…ohhh and if i pass my test then i will need a restricter kit too
hey there i cant help u as far as a van is concerned but my m8 had a gpz500s for a few years & he totally abused it! (as in never serviced etc…) and it never let him down so for free u cant grumble
Had a couple of quotes for transport for the bike but one firm is in St Neotts and the other is in Chesham…are there not any London firms out there at all that can do this ?
