TT Ferry Tickets

Anyone had luck getting some when they release the unsold ones in March?

Just found out I’ll be doing medic work for race week but ferries are obviously all sold out and I’m in two minds wether to risk waiting until March for ferry tickets to be re-released or to pay quite a bit for flights?

they drip release tickets all year long. just keep booking.

pro tip: it’s easier to book anything and then ring them up to change it. they should be helpful if you’re working there.

Curtis - if you get the chance of a ferry from Heasham and need accommodation the night/day before, let us know. It’s 45 mins away, yours free as a paramedic. (Plus we’ll let you off the usual lawnmowing) Anyone else we know welcome but there will be a charge

Keys in the pot again Mr J :)

You’d think so but I emailed them and they basically said first come first and that I need to wait until March

Will take you up on that if I get a ferry!

and a free Magnum for working lads

Thanks for the offer Jets, managed to get flights that aren’t a million miles from the ferry cost and have arranged for a campsite pitch with pre-erected tent, so all sorted now…Roll on 2017!

Glad you’ve sorted it out Curtis

just got confirmation to pay the rest of my ticket (booked 3rd June) for the car. £385 plus £100 for 1 extra adult. not far off paying for 2 bikes really.

Flying works out cheaper then?!

My flight was £401 assuming you paid a deposit on top of the £385?

£401 that’s just stupid you could have gone to the NW and Uster GP for that money.

I’m getting it back in pay as I’m working out there, I had to book it as needed to commit to working and no ferries were available.

what are you going to do for transport while you’re out there?

£385 was all in.

The most I’ve paid for flights is £225. Return and last year I paid £235 for the ferry. If it’s gone up that much I won’t be going next year.

Do you not claim that back as expenses rather than getting it within your pay?

There’s a big difference, expenses won’t attract income tax whereas if its part of you pay it will.

No, we don’t get paid expenses but are paid for every race we cover. TBH I’m not looking to make money out of it, I’m happy to get to go out there for free and get involved and get to watch the action
