Just wondering, has anyone on here owned a Triumph Scrambler and if so, what are your thoughts?
No point wondring why I’m asking, its just a fledgling thought at the moment

Hi,
Had mine for 2 years now, 10,000 trouble free miles. I really enjoy it, very easy to ride and enough power for most trips. I changed tyres from Bridgestone to Metzeler last time round and very happy with those. Maintenance is a cinch and there is a great forum if you have any problems. www.triumphrat.net
I did 3 hours of green-laning on it just for fun, and apart from being a bit heavy and the ground clearance a bit lacking , I had no real problems.
If I was to change anything I would get someone like Bob Farnham Tuning to add a little bit more mid range power for overtaking, but that is all. The only mod I have done was to add the floating EBC disk and sintered pads to the front. Rear I used normal pads, the sintered on the rear results in it locking up too quickly. Oh, and I have the Triumph Off Road pipes, great sound…
Last June I did 1300 miles on it to the Black Forest in Germany and back in 3 days, and am doing the same run again in 3 weeks time. Tank is a bit miserly, no gauge so you need to reset trip meter each fill up and re-fuel around 100 miles, but for my day to day commuting it is no problem.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Peter
