Just an idea, anyone fancy a Treasure hunt type ride covering around 150 miles, no planned route, just a series of clues and aproximate destinations. Would involve a bit of map reading and route planning. Not a race, no prizes, just a bit of fun?
That would be great! No Sat Navs allowed though (except mine)!
sounds fun
sounds fun, i used to do them years ago in cars. was a right laugh and always ended up at a pub.
Brilliant idea, would be nice to open it up so that it could be a family day, I would need to use a car though. Used to do them with an off road club that we were in, really good fun and the atmosphere was fantastic. No prizes involved but points awarded for each section completed and you were named and shamed at the end if you had been hopeless.
Sorry about the families & cars, we were thinking very specifically of doing it on bikes. ![]()
awsome i used to do these with my parent all the time when i was a wee kid.
I say the last clue ends in at a pub in the country somewhere
Sounds fab, we’ve been talking about doing one of these for a few years now after doing the London scavenger hunt on our bikes.
Count me in
You could say that if you like Ryan, but we may have already decided where the last clue ends:D (and may be about to test the route out soon)![]()
Sounds like fun. Especially if it is a team event.
Great Idea , would love to be involved !
sounds a giggle
Sounds fun!!
Done these before, great fun. More than once saw my papers disappear off bike and go flying into nearby field…
150 miles sounds far too long though. As I remember, 30-50 miles gave a reasonable route with a reasonable time.

is that rhyming slang…???

count me in
SOUNDS FUN
This is obviously a different kettle of fish to the one you went on then:D
Planning nearing completion. Can be a team or individual event. Less than 200 miles depending on the route you chose (the Bristol dog leg could push this up considerably)
Sat navs will be confiscated at the Ace and returned only if you return within the time limit.
Destinations are to the north and west of London and will all add to your knowledge of British heritage.
Spot checks by scrutineers on fingernail cleanliness and other non relevent factors will count towards your final points.
Digital camera, camera phone or a biro are a prerequisite of this quintessentially Jetstream challenge.
No prizes, no thanks, no racing, no sexual favours but tea and cakes will be involved. So brush up on your map reading, Shavian plays, Roman towns, Raj connections and any National Trust properties within 500 miles of London.
Following the recent post reminding us of our voluntary commitment of a £1 donation to the London Air Ambulance, anyone not concurring will be photographed and exposed as a cheapskate.
Final date to be posted in line with Metcheck (this a fair weather ride) one for you Chunky:D
Should you chose the right route this ride is the dogs danglies, the wrong route may be pants in the extreme!
Time for the LB heros to step up to the mark.:w00t:
Should you be a team rider, start picking your mates now, the ideal team will consist of a total tw*t, a present or recently retired member of Her Majesty`s special forces, someone who can read a map:D, an LB girl, a GS 1200 wanabee and someone with special powers.
i remember doing this sort of thing in a car, could be a fun day out
Sounds good - nice one mate
