If you do a Martin Hopp better riding day at Cadwell, as the day’s targeting better riding and not an out and out track day, unless you’re in the fast group you don’t need leathers. On top of which, it’s the best introduction you could have to track days in my experience at a wonderful track. http://www.hoppridertraining.co.uk/index1.html
Looks good. Thanks for that.
if you’ve got a jacket with a zip look for some trousers you can zip it to? although personaly id invest in some leathers. Gortex is a one time deal where as leather is unbelievably resiliant. i know that all sounds obvious but really the price of leathers now compaired with a few years back you should invest in a set
I’m not sure if you can still get them but you used to be able to buy a one piece Kevlar race suit. it was sposed to be as good as leather but didnt really catch on with the race boys and girls.
Leathers all the way, you should be able to buy a reasonably cheap set off ebay if you don’t want to spend a fortune. Gortex will not save you in such conditions.
Heres the official MSV line for LB Trackdays
Do I need to bring any special equipment? Helmets are obviously required for all events and need to be of BSI 6658 Type A/ACU Gold standard. You will also need full leathers – either a one piece or two-piece with full waist zip. Proper leather bike boots and gloves are also required but no titanium knee sliders will be permitted.
Hope that helps:)
:crying: oh well plastic it is!
don’t skimp on leathers - it’s a must!!!
the suits you talk of chunks never took off because they didn’t slide like a nice bit of cow - instead they gripped and caused horrible rolls down the tarmac…bone breaker rolls or so I’ve been told anyway :hehe:
tecnic do good suits and two peice leathers and there not too exspensive
It’s not so much the cost as the ethical side…try to avoid leather a bit…oh dear…now you all think I’m a tree hugger or sommat.
ohh don’t go to cadwell then mate…i’ve rarely made it the whole way there without squishing at least one bunny! :w00t:
Possibly take up embroidery instead:)
Steady!!!
Even ethical bods can get lary.
Just convince yourself the bullock died of old age.
I’ve done a bit of farm labouring so that’s a difficult one.
Is your ethical view purely about the animal or does it extend to the planet? Is so how do you balance getting lary with the fuel consumption, rubber wear etc?p.s. Genuine question and not a p1ss take.
p.s. If we all eat an extra burger this week then they’ll be an extra hide available for you without any guilt
