top 10 future classics

MT-01= pile of ****!

i like the NC700/B-King comment:D

surprised the SV wasn’t on there, or the Hornet, SP1? 636 ninja?

pfff no 625 SMC twin pipe? That’s a future classic…

I think that NumNum hit the nail on the head with “It needs to be bikes that were there and then gone again before anyone really noticed”

There is nothing on that list that qualifies.

A lot of what people have put forward here the only one that I would be thinking maybe is the SP1. As for the Bandit, if your talking about the old oil cooled bike, I would say it has more chance of being used as a boat anchor.

I think the term classic is an umbrella term that covers various criteria:

It might be because a bike defined a particular era - e.g the BSA Goldstar in late 50’s/60’s Britain.

Or because the bike set new standards in terms of design and technology - the Honda CB750 in 1968

Or because the bike set a new benchmark in terms of weight, handling and performance - like the first Honda Fireblade in 1992.

Or because ‘everyone’ has owned or ridden one at some point e.g. Bandit 600, CBR600.

Or because it was seen as the ultimate all rounder like the VFR800.

Or because it was the ultimate reliable affordable do it all workhorse like the CB500.

Or because as stated - the bike was a bit niche - never sold well but was different/unusual and has a devoted following.
