Tokico 6 Pot Calipers Required

Need some tokico 6 pots for the front end of my Bandit 1200. Originally from GSX1000R. Pads not required. The seals have blown and i cant believe how much the cost is to replace them. Easier to replace the whole calipers.
Cheers

Trouble is, just about every set of 6 pots out there will have trouble with the dust seals - never seen a used set without at least some problems.
Better off forking out £50 for seals and sorting it properly - you’ll prolly end up having to reseal the new ones anyway.

true story…

I have a set that just came off my bike (zx7r) not sure if they’ll fit but the seals were fine.

Agree with Adz and Gurni - had 6 pots redid the seals and still had trouble, swapped out for 4 pots in the end…

Saying that I have 2 sets of 6-pots, one the calipers are shagged but the seals are new, the other the caliper is good but the seals are shagged, make me an offer for both and with a bit of work you will have a good set and some spare pistons to sell on…

the set off the zx7r from peejay will fit. same mounts

Not true mate, the GSXR1000 K1 and K2 run a slightly different bolt spacing.

The ‘original’ six pots that came on the 750 SRAD, ZX7R, ZX6R, TL and Busa have a 90mm bolt spacing - the newer 6pots come with a 63mm bolt spacing - although both calipers take the same pads AFAIK.

I think what you want is a set from a GSXR1000 K1 or K2 or a GSX 1400 which I’m pretty sure had the same calipers.

But like Elad has said - the 4pot versions (which are much more widely available) are proven to work better - but if it the look your after (e.g. 6pots or gold calipers) then look for the 6 potters.

P.s. - If its performance then I’ve heard the CBR600RR axial mount calipers perform better the the OEM 4pot tokico…

When i picked up my ZX6R The 6pots were horrible, So bad i just sold them on for a pittance, thought about replacing with 4 pots, but instead brought a shiney new set of 6 pots, When they are new and clean they really do the business, will really haul a bike down from 140+, on private roads ofc…

well spotted fella! didnt read bout the gsxr forks. gsxr1000 k1 - k2 forks can use gsxr 600 k1-2 or gsxr750 k1-2-3 callipers

Thanks for all the replys peeps.
Have really put me in two minds now though.
Looks like i now need disks, calipers and hoses as the twat who done the origonal conversion has not done a very good job.
If anyone knows where i can get an origonal set up ( 4 pots, disks and hoses ) would be appreciated.
Thanks again.

No worries!
(K1 600 and 750Y as well! :hehe:)Busaboy - Have you got a pic of what you have setup now? Most of the parts (if not all) will be in ebay! Depends whats missing…
