To the Light fingered Customer

I’m sad to say that during the course of this week we have had our first and only case of theft from OMC.

I have waited till now to post this for two reasons.

Firstly, and slightly naively, in the hope that I was mistaken and the items concerned were just mislaid, after the customer had left, but sadly this was not the case. (Each tool box is checked per customer)

Secondly, if I had posted this earlier in the week, it may have been apparent to some customers who the perpetrator may be and that would leave the person exposed to a potential witch hunt via social media, something that I really don’t want to happen.

Now there is a way out of this for the person concerned, return the items either by dropping them in the post box, when we are not here, or by bringing them in person and we can all put it down to a silly oversight/misunderstanding

However if these items are not returned the next time the individual steps foot into OMC they will be asked to leave and never return.

Jeez mate, if i was fit i would happily break there fingers for you!! On a serious not, i have a camera system for sale if interested. See you in a couple of weeks!

Jeez the nerve of some people! Hope they bring back whatever it was they nicked! :frowning:

Could you not contact this person directly to ask for said item back?

Edit: On second thought, strap him to one of the benches and bring out the powertools @D

They might have absentmindedly picked them up, particularly if they were also using their own tools in addition to OMCs tools. For example, a friend of mine recently came to my house and found one of her DVDs in my DVD collection. I had borrowed it months before and forgotten to give it back. She was fine about it, but it goes to show that sometimes mistakes can be made. I have also gone to friends’ homes and seen books I had lent them ages ago in their bookshelves!

I’m not excusing anyone stealing anything - but before we all jump in, just saying the person might have indeed made a genuine mistake and accidently gone off with them. They might be mortified on reading this thread and give them back post haste!

I hope the tools get recovered very soon anyway and keep up the good work OMC  Don’t be discouraged by this.

as i said on facebook, you did well by not telling names.

i really only need an excuse…

return swiftly please, no harm done.

how do you know someone on another bench didnt walk over to ‘use’ a tool or even just pick it up thinking ‘i’ll have that’…its possible.

or even better why not just call the customer and ask them if they possibly have walked out with one of the tools accidentally.

maybe a better way of doing it than posting it on here and facebook…no?

DP :ermm:

Out of curiosity…

Was it an expensive tool or even one that is hard to find?

(Im not excusing them at all) But maybe they thought they could “Borrow” it for a job at home or something inthe hope to return it without anyone knowing…

hope you get it back soon!

what a shame indeed… That’s no way to treat other biker mates especially someone who is providing an excellent service such as yourself…
Hope it’ll be returned asap!

Pervert

I don’t think its the value of the tool mate. More the principle. I’m sure OMC is insured for theft, etc. A garage like that works on trust.

If you ask me the OMC should do the credit card thing like hotels do.

I totally agree Dan but Im just saying… Maybe he/she was intending to return it…

Either way its not fair on OMC but yes I agree with you.

P.s its good to see you back, where you been? Iv not hadanyone stalkingmy posts :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah maybe… I guess we’ll never know.

Had to go away for work for a few weeks. Looks like you got a new bike as well!

I don’t stalk… I participate :stuck_out_tongue:

What are you thinking of?
Double Post, no? hehe

‘Mad Dog Dirty’ more like!

Thought you wanted to help in the punishment of the perp or be the middle man:laugh:

As I said in my other post, just contact them rather than shame in public!

Hi

I would give them time to return the item(s) just in case they put them into there bag in error. Easliy done. Just in case theyhaven’t seen the 2 posts send a PM after 24hrs.

Shame the MF as you have been more than fair.

Is there really a need for two threads? And as i said, are you sure its not somewhere in there engine!!

The tools have been located and are being returned.

Nice one, all ended well.
