When its grey, windy, raining and cold, and your riding down London’s b e a utiful A40, or perhaps the stunning sites of a gloomy, camera ridden M25, then perhaps your mind wonders, why am I doing this again?
Here are some pictures to remind you why…
I take no credit for these images and nor am I trying to pretend I have had these experiences, but I want these experiences, they are a reminder why I got into biking, and looking at them now, damn does it make me wanna open the door and go…
Hopefully they will do the same for you, and remind you why biking is just so damn awesome…
Very good post and a very timely reminder about ‘biking’, Guy!
I remember riding through the Canadian Rockies with a mate many years ago, truly awe inspiring and difficult for me to put into words just how enjoyable that was. I’ve never beaten that, and generally only really use my bike for work, with the odd blat here and there. The daily trudge, esp. at this time of year isn’t particularly enjoyable.
I really must seriously look into getting myself on a decent tour - Spain maybe. There’s a possibility of a trip to Normandy next year which I hope to do.
I sure do miss the world. I need to get back out next year and see it again…
It makes me laugh to see some of these bikes so heavily laiden… The number one rule is to travel light! I made this mistake and loaded up too much… Screws the handling when you get to the beautiful twisties.
Great shots Timr, makes me more jealous that i’m not out on the bike! Glad you guys enjoyed the post, keep adding your own shots, love seeing the freedom a bike brings.
Funny you should mention that. I am just in the planning stages for next years Mega Rides.
So far there are trips to
France/Normandy
Germany/Colditz
France/Alps
A 2000 miler in 48 Hours
A 1000 miler in 24 Hours
A Lands End to JOG 1000 miler in 24 Hours
And I may visit North Wales for some practice runs.
