Now why do I get the feeling that this is gonna be a long-a$$ que right behind DR? Tis’also strange how recently few riders have been wanting to pass me on The BCR and more importantly, the number of riders on that gig doubled in a week to 21? Plus I spent more time towards the back last Sunday and it was the slowest ride we’ve ever had!
I’ve been to have a look at some forks from a 2004 KTM SM. Big problem trying to graft that leter stuff on. I think that the fork on The Riot are from a 1990 250 crosser?
I’ve signed up and put a thread on www.ktmforum.co.uk in the hope that I can get help or even forks from someone there?
These were on ebay about 300yrs ago. They look very similar. For a Pony I should’da remembered to keep an eye on the sale, as I might’ave been able to use that outer casing to put on mine!:pinch:
I have removed the yokes to find a sleave in the bottom one? I need some USD KTM forks with a 17mm wheel spindle. The fork uppers are 52mm & 56mm (top/bottom).
They should fit the yolks on The Riot. But the brake carrier is wrong, as is the wheel spindle. If the forks from here do fit The Riot, the whole front end will be sent off to a new contact (/www.surreysupermotos.co.uk/home.html) from Sipermoto, fanx Darrrling!, to sort out the wheel spindle and a bracket for the front brake.
I bet now I’ve bought this front end www.allbikeengineering.co.uk all of a sudden have my old ones fixed!:pinch:
So, my options could be widening?..or I’ve just done a few £’s on summit I cant use?
The forks arrived today!:w00t: I’ll check them over when I get home, then they’ll be sent off to the fella to make/machine some bits to make it all work…hopefully!
The Riot is feeling so down. So am I. :crying: No wheels (front or rear). No front end (bar’s, forks, yolks, headlight clocks, f/brake, the lot, all off!). The exit part of the zorst is even off the bike…:crying:
I have showed The Riot the new forks that arrived today. Its spirits were barely lifted tho… They fit perfectly, but the wheel spindle brake and prolly the front wheel dont!
The whole lot will be sent to Mr Tattoo on www.ktmforum.co.uk to see if he can make The Riot righteous again.
Reassure The Riot again - just showing the forks without reassuring tlc and a gentle voice may not have been enough - remember this is not just a machine you are dealing with
Ok, good idea. The Riot wants to be started up every time I go to my garage now its seen the forks. I have tried to explain that being balanced on a Motocross stand I cannot risk kicking the mota over, it’ll end in A&E!
Not having the end of the muffler on prolly wont make it any louder! tho:D
