It is quite difficult to get zero for multiple clicking. They just want to stop you clicking fast and repetativly.
If you click as soon as you see a posisble hazard, say a woman with a pushchair walkign down the road, again when you see her look over her shoulder, a third time when she turns and starts pushing the pushchair across the road, and fourth time when you actually start slowing for her you will be fine. They actually want you to click when she turns as that is a “developing hazard” rather than the first two times which is when she is only a potential hazard.
Another hint - when the vehicle turns at ajunction or goes round a roundabout you can’t see what is ahead as you only look front on - always click as the vehicle straightens up - often there is a hazard such as a statrionary vehicle in the road or a person crossing etc and the only way to get maximum points is to click before you see it. You can safely click as soon as you see it also.
Last hint - remember that you will get zero for clicking too early, you will not get max points for clicking late, but you will get some points. in other words, unlike real life, recognising a hazard early is worse than recognising it late, hence the multiple click strategy. I always clicked a second time wit ha delay ogf about a second after an initial click as initially I was always clicking early. Averaged 4.2 out of 5 on my HP.
Don’t forget to click for obscure hazards… I know it sounds daft, but when the clips go you’ll pass things like cars parked on both sides of the which narrows the road down, and presents a position from which “surprise” hazards could spring out… Seriously, those cars are a hazard in the eyes of the testers even if you wouldn’t naturally think of them as such cos they’re stationary. Rate everything that changes your perception of the road ahead of you. Even if you see the pelican crossing 100 yards ahead, click. Its an “approaching” hazard…It may sounds over the top, but they see “safe carfeul driver” - you pass. Simple.

Drowning my sorrows more like…bloody failed!! :crying::crying::crying: Got 41 out of 50 on the questions and passed the HP with 59 out of 75!

I really do think there was something funny going on to be honest, since when are motorcyclists asked what the punishment for riding a ‘push-bike’ on the pavement is?!
Also the guy who was on the desk was telling me that it was the ‘unlucky’ week, and that last week virtually every motorcycle test passed, yet this week nobody has passed!? Strange uh?
And before anyone says it I am not trying to make excuses for failing, I failed I know!! :crying:

Oh sorry mate! Some of the questions are not really intuitive indeed. Just find out where do you fail and memorize answers. You’ll do it next time!

Don’t be disheartened.
There are a LOT more pages in the new HC, and although the common thread is the same, some answers are subtly different.
The newly (October?) introduced tests really DO test whether you have read the HC as opposed to just using ‘common sense’, which does NOT apply to some of the required answers.
Chin up … now go and book your self another test … the sooner you pass, the sooner you live the dream !
