Does any one know what type of grease is in the satchet that comes with a new chain and rivet link. Or a safe alternative. I haven’t enough to liberally put on the link… As I accidentally squished the satchet that came with the chain.

White lithium grease or white teflon grease.

Any grease will do the job, whatever you have on the shelf. Mix it 50:50 with fresh engine oil.

Thanks Art. Will get some lithium in the morning, probably the easiest to acquire. Wasn’t sure about it as someone once told me that it wasn’t o/x ring friendly.
Hell, I may now get to Hi beech for a cuppa tomorrow afternoon:)
