Most of you know that we ran a thread recently asking for people to submit ideas for the official LB logo, as we hadn’t designed one properly before now. Well after everyone kindly gave their opinions and feedback on the matter, we’ve been given direction and come up with the final design. You’ll already have seen it if you read the thread, though we’ve polished it off a little and produced the high-resolution version. Thanks to everyone who contributed, we couldn’t have come up with it, without your help.
On the whole, we feel it represents us as a community, in the way it’s clearly recognisable as being both British (because of the roundel) and has similarities with other notable London logos. Simplcity was also key, as it has to be reproducable in many different forms, from web, print to merchandise. We’ll be integrating it into the site design shortly, in the next major release of the site, which will be when the LB Directory is completed. It’ll also feature on stickers, flyers, clothing and even tatoos if we can convince babyJ.
The old one was okay V2, though the trouble is, it wasn’t marketable, it wasn’t striking enough, so this new one should make LB more memorable and stand out. I realise though that not everyone will like it, but I hope that doesn’t detract from what we’ve got going on here.
I bet that’s Tasha’s idea of revenge!
