The invisible bike helmet

It’s an interesting concept, could it one day be applied to motorcyclists as well maybe?

Interesting concept. They do realise I can see it though, right?

it sort of already is, http://www.spidi.com/eu/eu_en/dps-airbag-motorcycle/

yeah but that only protect the neck and collarbone. What I meant was does anyone think that the time will come where we don’t have to wear a helmet but can wear something like the above invention instead

nope, maybe in some US states perhaps where you dont have to wear a helmet at the mo, but here? never!

I’d rather wear a modern lightweight, vented bicycle helmet than a bulky collar that presumably needs to be recharged every time you fall off (regardless of whether the helmet hits the floor). I don’t think the collar would be much cooler in summer either and it would certainly look weird over the top of a t-shirt.

Presumably the collar would be more expensive, would require more looking after (battery charging, checking the gas cartridge & accellerometer are working etc) than a decent helmet too.

Not surprised someone with that footwear is obsessed with head protection!

Haha I thought that myself

lot of downsides to it, which mostly assume you’re not travelling at motorbike speeds… unless its kevlar (or similar) construction, I wouldn’t put my head in its hands to be honest… plus… eyes are still completley unprotected, so no no for motorbiking… imagine the wind noise and ear chill too.

Bicyclye sure, but sweaty adn only really for women with “I’ve got a new hair do issues” … good luck to em.
