the cost of biking

what with this time of year and all that…has any of you lot thought of the cost of biking???

well just personally Ive looked at my own exspenses,1 lid 500, 2 leathers 800,gloves 120,boots 220

and that’s only one set of gear there are textiles waterproofs jeez the list is endless…then there’s the running costs insurance “quotes that get mistaken for the space shuttle” servicing, tyres, and what about fuel if i ran a car that drank fuel like me bike I’d soon get rid…anyhow moan over must be the time of year an-all that “HUMBUGGGGGGGGGG”

I think of it as cheaper then spending my free time in the pub drinking which is what I probably would be doing if I didn’t have the bike.

most of my wages go on my bike and kit, so lord knows how much ive been spending!!!

Thats it Fook it, just relized. I’m giving up biking & taking the bus

I never worry about the cost, as i enjoy so much.

I’m 18 so I more then worry about the cost. But the general running up and down I do means it is already saving me money on the train and tube. Also I think, had I done my car test 1st id be paying 4 times as much in insurance, and probably more than twice as much in petrol. Its cost effective for me.
And no need to factor in traffic as a dictating factor of a long journey.

Why would anyone want to work out the cost of running their bike?

It’s uneconomic in terms of a group ride where everyone is going to the same place but on seperate vehicles when we could all just car pool.

Its a mode of transport that poses more dangers if involved in an accident.

If bikes were invented in 2006, they would be banned.

Just ride your bike and thank whoever or whatever you believe in that the scumvernment haven’t taken this pleasure away from us.

Stop giving them ammunition

This should help:-

BIKE:-

Fun to ride

No traffic jams

Cheap to run

Can get cold in winter

Gets you to work quicker

Could be knocked off

Park anywhere

CAR:-

Traffic jams

Boring

Expensive to run

Takes long time to get to work

Finding Parking spaces

It`s dry and warm

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:-

Bloddy expensive

Crap service

Smelly buses and trains

Misrable passngers

Delays and not running on time

You miss a train or bus have to wait a while for the next one.

Takes longer than the bike to get anywhere.

I run a car and a bike and yep, it’s bloody expensive - but worth every penny!

Although the car costs more to run and I hardly use it, I wouldn’t consider not having one. It’s convenient for shopping and going out with other friends who don’t ride.

No need to worry about the cost - its only money - riding grins are not easily bought!

Managed to run a KR1S when I was a penniless student, ate tin spagetti for about 2 years (and not that expensive 40p Heinz stuff, this was 12p No-frills I tell ya…)
