My first helmet was an Arai till I wrote it off in an accident! :Whistling:
Bit tight on the ears but then it never had a chance to mold to my head…only had it 4 months and didn’t wear it a lot in the first 2 months!
I’d go for the Shoei just coz the Arai looks a bit like mine!!
the shoei is amazing hardly even feel i’m wearing mine. i think thats one of the best i’ve seen too:cool:
get the arai and matching leathers… you guys would look soooo cute!! 
I’d go for the Shoei, because my head fits in a Shoei better than an Arai… and a Shoei saved my life
Have you tried them for fit? That Viper GT is a very old colour scheme. From the images alone I’d go for the Shoei, looks much better. But as I have an Arai shaped head I’d look at another colour Arai…Gr8 lids:cool:

Yep, tried both for fit…and guess what…they fit (although the Arai I think was a slightly better fit but I had tried quite a few on by the end of the ‘session’ so am going back tmrw for the ‘final fit/purchase’)!

IMHO, Arai have a very spongy type of lining that forms around most heads cause its foamy. Where as the Shoei has an actual shape that fits a certain head shape. Once the Arai foam beds in it can feel very different (may be they all do?). Mine was really pushing on my cheeks, once bedded in it was fine. Arai supply different cheek pad sizes etc. I’m sure like the Arai, most of the Shoe liner comes out so you can wash it? The straps and fittings arent that substantial on Arai’s, they look better on Shoei’s, but I buy Arai so have no experience of the Shoei’s…my last Shoei was an Eddy Lawson replica… he used to race motorcycles in another century!

Only you can decide which one feels best on your bonce. I’m a died in the wool Arai man but of the two pictures I prefer the graphics on the Shoei.

weak poll, I have an AGV that just kicks arse and it weren’t £400 neither… you label knobs are missing out 
I have both an Arai Astro R and a Shoei X-spirit which was damaged in the accident.
Both lids are brilliant and i recommend both.
I find the Arai more comfy to wear and a little quieter but the Soei has a better vetalation system and a better visor for when it rains as the water comes off better when riding.
Without trying to sound flash, i have both 
I prefer the Aria, i find it a better fit, less noise, and a cool pull down flap that stops the wind hitting your neck.

It might be worth checking out J+S in Greenwich while you’re at it, as they had a 20% off sale going on which included everything in the store! Get your £500 lids for £400 etc… 
Not at all. Three times I have seen AGV that I like the look of, but they barely pull down past my ears! They seem very shallow lids and dont fit my obviously Tefal Boffin shaped head!:blink:
