great little bike…great bike full stop…I have been wanting one of these for ages…met up with a couple who said they had more fun on them than on their super bikes…and they said going through traffic and doing the lanes was tons more enjoyable at much lower licence saving speeds…
Hey AndyS3, welcome aboard! I have the enduro version of the DRZ and yes, it’s a fantastic bike and very rewarding. It’s much more fun that most people might give credit for on first glance. It’s certainly way more than the paper stats would suggest. I think this would be a great first bike.
It’s a superb city bike as it’s very high up, giving you a great view of the road around you. It’s also upright so very comfortable and very torquey, allowing you to move quickly through traffic. Your position on it also allows you to control it very, very precisely through heavy traffic, and it’s high bars mean your mirrors are not the same height as cars, making it easier to get through traffic than on a sports bike for example.
Great wee bikes, especially in London. I used to nick my exes for my commute. Great laugh and can get through gaps that scoots will baulk at.Pain in the arse out on open roads though.
Had one of these Drz 400 sm model, I had it for a couple of months and grew bored of the lack of power. If your gonna go on the motorway or A roads then forget it, You will rag the arse out of it!!! But green and country lanes AWESOME!
Ktm is the way forward Imho, But go with what you feel.
