This apocalyptic ride, will celebrate reptiles in all their diversity.
Once we went to Jacks Hill cafe with “Old Guy” one of LB`s reptilian members.
Since he has subsequently slithered under a stone, we are trying to entice him out with slivers of raw liver.
That said, depart the Ace, 10.00am,full tanks and Uric acid bags emptied.
Polish yer Nictitating membranes and ride forth.
Translation:
Ace 10 am. Ride roads. Lanes & gravel included as usual. Lunch at Jack’s Hill Cafe, for a greasy burger, all day breakfast or some other stuff, ride home in the twilight. Via an historic monument and a ford.
Art you’d better attend now to sort out your cholesterol intake for the next year.
Call me a lightweight nancy boy if you will but it’s Jill burger for me :)… may go for bubble and black pudding on the side though … then again the chicken sounds good and there’s always the specials… mmm decisions, decisions aye…
Yer right Steve, it’s a long ride for an old un like you:D We think we should be there around 12 ish for an early lunch stop. The ford fun is after lunch so you can wimp out & go straight home if you like:)
Rosso, when you said that it was fine here but your weather has now arrived in Wembley:sick: Sure it’ll have blown over by the morning though:Whistling:
Well Jetstream you were right, it’s all calm and sunny here at the moment. I am not going to make the ace though, but may join you at Jacks Hill, depending on pussy pressure.
All the usual suspects - not so much gravel around but the dollops of mud and pools of water settling across the lanes was more than enough to slip and slide around on. Some of the twisties were that good Geoff and me doubled back for a second sortie. Tough as old boots and mad as March hares, least the odd couple painting the Buckingham shop walls in the rain were :ermm:
Fair call by Mrs J for Jack cheese burgers and chips with greasy fried onions all washed down with a steamy mugatea, bangers & beans and quarter chicken options for those taking a little more care of their cholesterol levels. The hot apple crumble buried under a mountain of creamy Cornish ice cream turned out to be irresistible.
The only downside of the day was the Bonne arrived home absolutely Diirty Fiilthy
Nice to see Tim, Janey, Paul (Redrat) and Ian (Zine) at the Ace.
Ian made it as far as Winslow before turning back and causing a little confusion in the middle of the pack.
Quite an achievement as the remaining pack amounted to three riders.:doze:
Geoff managed to track John down and shepherd him back to us in Buckingham, a good effort as Geoff had lost his own bike in the Ace car park.:Whistling:
Jacks hill was buzzing with activity in its post Christmas rush.
Was a great day that one:) We could not remember the name of that ford so Art trawled his vast collection of ford pics for us. Very similar in depth and bottom to the one we went through today, but today’s was not as slippery. Some good roads & countryside near it too, and not so far away. We’ll go back when the sun is shining just for you Rosso:)
