Random trivia (from when I was a boy) - London Bridge building work started in 1967. The previous bridge was dismantled and 30,000 tons of it was sold to Robert P McCulloch for $2,460,000. It was reconstructed on dry land in Arizona and completed in 1971, one year before its River Thames replacement.
