Summer jacket?

Hi,

I’m looking for a light mesh summer jacket (preferably not in roast-your-face-black) and I’m very confused by the abundance of choice available. I’m ideally looking at 120-150ish price range, preferably in a fairly fitting style. Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks,

lambda.

It’s black but I love it. Bought it from their store in hanger lane. It was £170 there though. Perfect fit, incredibly light, one removable layer for the extra hot days. One thing is, it doesn’t have a back protector included (just the pocket for it), so I suppose if you buy it as well, it will come up a bit too costly for your budget.

I already have a back protector from my current jacket, so if need be I can always swap it in. I’ll have a look out for these at a good price thanks!

I was going to say Dianese, but I paid like £300 for mine IIRC

Joe Rocket do a mesh jacket called Pheonix, Infinity used to sell them, just over £100 when I got mine.

Dainese do a mesh one for £175 (prob can find it cheaper) but no back protector as with all Dainese gear

A while back I managed to get a Spada one on Ebay for £50 because it was in Red. Same dealer had the black one for £100… So worth looking around on Ebay.

One thing I would strongly recommend if you buy a mesh jacket. Make sure the raincover is separate to the jacket, not a liner. I found this to be much more use and easy to put on if caught out. Plus it means you don’t have to decide to keep it in or not before leaving. And I also use it with my leather jacket in the winter to keep me warm

My spada one has a pocket in the rear you can keep it in so it’s with you at all times.

English summer? Make sure it’s waterproof and has a good thermal liner…

haha, I was going to say the same

My Spada one came with a windproof liner AND a waterproof over jacket, so there :stuck_out_tongue:

Had it out today for the first time this year and its a godsend when you’re stuck in London traffic in this heat, as all the hot air just gets blown away as soon as you’re moving

Now that’s just showboating…

Yeah I agree, even on the surrey lanes yesterday around 3-4 it was really hot and it made a lot of difference. Although I’m sure if I was wearing my leathers, I’d go faster just to cool down more

This one, far more superior than Dainese. Not so trendy and popular tho…

Gotta love the its name - “Bering keers”… read it as beering beers…

I seem to remember seeing an Alpinestars mesh jacket in Metropolis a while ago for around £100-150, although it may have been on sale because the sun hadn’t been seen for about 3 months at that point. I think it was beige/khaki

one correction… mine isn’t a spada, it’s a richa. Still crap quality but it’s been ok even in a small off…

I think mine is the older version of this:

I already have a decent waterproof jacket with the thermal liner wotsit. I had a bad experience with richa gloves (falling apart after about a month, twice) so will be steering away from them. I’m liking the look of that dainese though might have to pop by infinity have a look-see. Thanks guys!

My £50 richa jacket is going ok two years on… a couple of stiches have fallen off but not too bad and it’s been in a couple of offs both on and offroad  :Whistling:

I have a Held mesh jacket that got it’s first outing last night to the Ace, was lovely and airy on the way up, flippin’ freezing on the way home!

that’s why I say have a cheap waterproof overcoat… helps keep the wind out and keeps ya warm
