I’m looking for some new gloves as my Frank Thomas ones have seen better days.
Really I want some thin race-type leather gloves but nothing too larey and I’ve got some Alpinestars Sledge gloves for really hot days, so I’m not after a short cuff glove.
Can anyone recommend some that are cheap but do the job? Or does anyone have any they are looking to pass on (I’m about a M/L I think).
Ive got an old pair of alpinestars sp-1’s that i use daily except for winter cold days. I’m also really gutted i wont be able to replace them cos i dont like the sp-2
Those Racer Gloves you linked to are pretty good. I had a pair of kangaroo skin ones that I used for 2 years which were really good. Didn’t crash test them though thankfully.
@ Joby: Yeah, I like the look of them as I’ve got some Racer Multitops that I really like. But I’m thinking they may get a bit chilly on colder days/evening rides home. I’d like some kangaroo skin ones but can’t afford anything more at the moment.
@banman: I like the look of those Wolf ones but they’re out of my price range really (I know, they’re cheap as gloves go )
I went to Infinity yesterday and ended up buying the Racer Limes I linked to above. They also had the Racer Wings, which were Kangaroo, had a bit more protection and a larger gauntlet for the same price on sale, but the Limes were a better fit and more comfortable - I don’t do any track days or racing or crazy speeds, so I don’t need a full-on racing glove really.
I’ve got the latest Alpinestar SP1’s nice fit and very comfortable, but after 3 months or so they are wearing horribly, loose threads, graphics coming off and edges fraying. Not impressed. I’ll be going with Knox next time round. Sadly the second bad experience I’ve had with Alpinestar gloves.
Ive got Berick Moto Gp gloves, had them for years, no issues… Strange from Alpinestars though, I think there boots are tops, went sidi last time but don’t fit as well.
