stupid UK law

yes UK!! and only in UK
I bought a car park in a big covered garage. It belong to me !!

Another stupid guy is just using it. So I believed it is an offence because I own it and someone else took it. So I call the management company, they gave the number of towing company. Call them as well!! They do not have the right to tow a vehicle unless was there for 2 weeks. I called the police and they do not anything its not criminal.

What do you suggest? I need to park my car.

I believe there will be someone to help me (Police is useless in this case)!! maybe someone with a big van can help me to move the intruder and push it in the middle of the street

many thanks
Eman

Well talk to him first before you do any thing, They probably dont even know they cant park there

I agree with MS. but failing that, getting a buddy with a 4x4 to drag him out or let the air out of all his tyes seems like a fun idea.

Or the classic expanding foam deep in his exhaust pipe?

Vaseline on his door handles? that’s gonna feel horrible.

Pee in his front grille so his aircon smells of it (dunno if this one would actually work)

Smash window

Take off handbrake

Push car away…

Make sure no one saw you do it :stuck_out_tongue:

this might be of some use to you: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250336887868 you might need to be registered in order to use it on someone else’s car though, I’m not sure.

I cant, there are CCTV just in front of the car. I am sure she/he knows cant park there, it is private.

Eman

Get a sign made up and stick it on the back wall stating it’s private and anyone parking there will be clamped. After all it’s your property and you can do what you like

He’s just being a cheeky parker,

Leave a note on the car that the space is owned and is going to used from now on, if not i let him know you’ll be arranging removal !

try this as well. they are going to tow only if it is abandoned car, so I have to wait for 2 weeks before they clamp it.

Eman

see if you can get hold of a wheel clamp, even a cheap one from Halfords/Argos and clamp it. Charge them a release fee.

Actually Sherrie has a point, even if you don’t charge them to release the clamp they won’t be able to go anywhere until they’ve rung you to come down and release them, at which point you can have a polite but assertive conversation about illegal parking, hopefully that’ll do the trick?!?

Cut the handbrake cable and push the car out into the street so it’s blocking the road then phone the Police who’ll come and tow it away as it’s blocking the road.

Id get back to the management company you bought the spot off. Surely they cant just pass the buck by giving you the no of a towing company. Tell them its their issue and you want the use of the space you bought.

what? like the ebay link I posted a little while ago?

You can’t just clamp cars. The laws are specific about clamping (signage and stuff).

Seen that old lady in the paper that had the same problem last week. She rubbed dog poo on the door handles. Shes not had a problem since.

cant you just contact the person and ask them to not park it there.
leave a note on the car saying that they cant park there as you own the space.
job done.

left messages and my telephone number on the car. Police came to solve the problem and help me a lot. They were happy to provide a “free ticket pass” for me to park my car in another space (but I would have upset another guy) or on the street without paying ticket fine until the problem is solved. Police tried to contact the lady owner of the car but no success, and since the car is in a private property Police cannot remove it (they would have removed if it was on the street)

Eman

Sorry eman but refering back to your original post the police were not ‘useless’ as you thought tho they have not completely resolved your problem. The sollution however seems obviouse…do what the management company said and wait for 2 weeks till the tow people can legally act on your behalf or take the law into your own hands if you think its worth it.
OK i’m being a bit picky with you but its not the most henous of crimes and the management company could possibly be aggreeable to extending your lease free of charge to cover the 2 weeks you will have lost.

borrow enough trolley jacks to push it away, preferably in a tricky spot to get out off :stuck_out_tongue:

I like the idea of doggy poo on the door handles:D
