yes UK!! and only in UK
I bought a car park in a big covered garage. It belong to me !!
Another stupid guy is just using it. So I believed it is an offence because I own it and someone else took it. So I call the management company, they gave the number of towing company. Call them as well!! They do not have the right to tow a vehicle unless was there for 2 weeks. I called the police and they do not anything its not criminal.
What do you suggest? I need to park my car.
I believe there will be someone to help me (Police is useless in this case)!! maybe someone with a big van can help me to move the intruder and push it in the middle of the street
Get a sign made up and stick it on the back wall stating it’s private and anyone parking there will be clamped. After all it’s your property and you can do what you like
Actually Sherrie has a point, even if you don’t charge them to release the clamp they won’t be able to go anywhere until they’ve rung you to come down and release them, at which point you can have a polite but assertive conversation about illegal parking, hopefully that’ll do the trick?!?
Cut the handbrake cable and push the car out into the street so it’s blocking the road then phone the Police who’ll come and tow it away as it’s blocking the road.
Id get back to the management company you bought the spot off. Surely they cant just pass the buck by giving you the no of a towing company. Tell them its their issue and you want the use of the space you bought.
cant you just contact the person and ask them to not park it there.
leave a note on the car saying that they cant park there as you own the space.
job done.
left messages and my telephone number on the car. Police came to solve the problem and help me a lot. They were happy to provide a “free ticket pass” for me to park my car in another space (but I would have upset another guy) or on the street without paying ticket fine until the problem is solved. Police tried to contact the lady owner of the car but no success, and since the car is in a private property Police cannot remove it (they would have removed if it was on the street)
Sorry eman but refering back to your original post the police were not ‘useless’ as you thought tho they have not completely resolved your problem. The sollution however seems obviouse…do what the management company said and wait for 2 weeks till the tow people can legally act on your behalf or take the law into your own hands if you think its worth it.
OK i’m being a bit picky with you but its not the most henous of crimes and the management company could possibly be aggreeable to extending your lease free of charge to cover the 2 weeks you will have lost.
