Stolen : CCM 400 supermoto, black, reg WX04 FGE
Stolen from outside my house this evening between 8.50pm - 9.20pm (London
W7 Hanwell), a friend’s bike
Make: CCM
Model: 404Dualsport, black, supermoto wheels fitted
Reg : WX04 FGE
Chassis: SMZHC4ODS4B003740
Engine : K418104178 (Suzuki DRZ400E type)
Bike is black and standard with one obvious difference, the rear sidepanels
are plain aftermarket ones without the stripey standard decals, and part
secured with tie-wraps as they don’t quite fit. It’s very clean and tidy,
and fitted with the supermoto wheels (they’re supplied with an offroad set
as well). Despite the standard exhaust it’s quite loud.
This bike belonged to David Blair who died of cancer last year at age 39.
Dave made publishing history by singlehandedly publishing Motard magazine
and was well-known on the supermoto scene. The CCM was Dave’s bike and it
took over a year after his death before his partner was up to riding it.
It’s of huge emotional significance as well as yet another blow she does
not need; riding it this summer has been good therapy for her. The
miserable scum responsible want garrotting.
If anyone sees it, or CCM400E or parts thereof on eBay or Gumtree or
wherever, please contact me tonysleep@halftone. co.uk or Ealing police 0208
810 1212. These bikes are rare, CCM only having made a few hundred of them.
The Suzuki DRZ400E engine is clean and c.12,000ml, and they don’t often
come up s/h in such good nick.
We aren’t sure whether it was opportunist joyriders or a more professional
theft. The owner had only used the steering lock unfortunately, as she was
only visiting briefly. Our location makes an opportunist theft in half an
hour unlikely. Certainly the bike was not ridden away, we would have heard
it. There has to be a possibility that she was tailed from the Ace Cafe,
where she had just been.
Please circulate to other UK bike forums and help catch these miserable
arseholes.
