Whoops, out and about Sunday and I had to resort to a bump start
Made it back home and found the battery had just 11.9v of charge in it, started the engine at 1200 revs no change, revved it to 5,000 no change, no charging battery remained at 11.9v
Next test stator output to ground - short
So the choices are West Country Windings (bad reviews lately), M&P, Wemoto don’t list a 2006 CBF 1000A, any other suggestions or recommendations?
David Silver ?
I’am sure you probably know already John but…Part Number 31120MFAD02.
About 300 quid Inc vat.
Don’t know any rewinders mate. …maybe some ads in the Classic bike mags etc.
Hope you get it sorted …Cheers
I remember following Scorch’s exploits rewinding his Triumph’s stator. From memory he did the job twice. The first ‘practice run’ he needed to improve on the winding technique, the second winding although successful proved to be a labour of love due to the time involved. If only I had the patience to follow his example and do it myself.
I would say no you don’t but
Who knows what could happen
Being a former triumph owner and a current GSXR owner both bikes eat there sators and regs frequently I just like to know what’s going on and for a few shekels it’s a no brainer
If I get a low charge reading it’s lights off and head for home. There Is nothing worse than sitting by the side of a road in the pissing rain waiting for a tow truck
