Started it up yesterday

This wkd was the first time it was really nice n warm n sunny, and i was full of envy cuz i must have seen about a dozen sportbikes on the road coming back frm work, so yesterday late afternoon took the covers off, tightened all the nuts n bolts, lubed the chain, put the battery back in, took her off the stand and rolled her out , ignition on, pressed the starter and slight electrical rasp as it kicked in and roaaarrrrr! …started up right aways. I tell ya after 5 mths of hibernation it was sweet hearing that sound again, let it burble away for about 30 mins and then couldnt resist it, jumped up on it , cracked the throttle and took it to the end of the street and back again ( no insurance yet )…So will wait for another week and then will put it back on the road. My neighbor washing his truck down the road stopped and watched me , had a smile on his face…can you say envy? …lol

Well done mate! lol

See Cezar, the reason your bikes didn’t start after TWO weeks of hibernation was that you didn’t buy a Suzuki!!! Nice one Nightstalker, I know the feeling, having done it last year with my then-750. Gotta love GSXR’s, they just go on and on…

It’s a great feeling isn’t it?!

Warm your tyres, summer is nearly here!

Yeah, can I just remind Cezar that Nightstalker lives in Canada, where temperatures of -50C are not unheard of.

And you too will have your battery woes banished by this time on Saturday Cinders

You guys are not being fair with my Kawa! The last time it had started it was for the last ride with Ali. After that I used another one.

I envy 12yr olds on go-peds at least they have wheels, but soon… soon ill get to ride the Gixxer through the house

Must be something to do with Cezar and Kwakas not starting. Mine had not been run since early Jan. Fired up fine in April and I had not taken the battery out or anything. She has always been good, not started for over a year and still fired into life. My old VFR400 was a different kettle of fish, if you didn’t start her for just three days she was a pig to get going, even with a new battery.
