Has anyone parked at Stansted airport?
I am wondering if the parking area for bikes is safe, has CCTV etc? Might take a summer trip and because its free parking, it sounds tempting.
Anyone heard of troubles with this place?
Since there is no mention of any anchors, bars or stands I’m guessing there will be none. A public car park with nothing to secure a bike and chain to has to be a big no in my book. Although it may be worth checking as the above information is 3 years old.
Good advice. So I called and was told by short stay
a) they make regular patrols of the site
b) CCTV does cover the motorbike area
c) there are posts to chain bikes to
Therefore the feedback was there is actually very low crime, as this is coupled with a barrier entry and exit from the car park, so all vehicles are traceable.

Use a decent chain, 16mm link minimum, through the frame rather than just the wheel/s.
I have parked there several times and by the way you can leave your bike in the short stay car park for days. It seems very secure and there is so much security at airports these days I think thieves will just go for the easy pickings on the streets of london
Park there quite often and it seems safe. You have to go thru barrier to get in and out and there are cameras on the barriers. Also you have to personally collect an exit ticket. It may not be safe but is sure safer than other airports with no security at all…
