i think if your doing a track day of spending the day at santa pod then i guess its worth the extra but if your just commuting to work then i wouldnt bother.
you can also buy octane in a can and mix it with 97 octane to get to around 100 but its not good to poodle around on it. BHP IN A CAN!!LOL
In a recent bike mag test, they put 100 RON Shell Optimax into a new BMW S1000RR and it made a couple of horsepower less than when it was running 97 RON
Dont know what mag you saw that in but in the superbike mag, well atleast i think it was that 1, they tested out fuels. The optimax burnt cleaner and gave a small increase in HP.
I always use optimax in my supermoto, dont bother using it in the car though
It was in Performance Bikes, i read the same article.I use normal unleaded in mine, the only time i use the super octane stuff is when its the only pump left on the forecourt:D 119p for standard or 124p for super, 5p per litre and your bike takes roughly 17 litres so for a full tank its cost you 85p more:w00t: bit different if you was filling the car
