Speeding motorcyclist jailed after policeman uses Google to expose lies

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/lawandorder/5709239/Speeding-motorcyclist-jailed-after-policeman-uses-Google-to-expose-lies.html

so he was going to end up with a 3 points and a £60 fine and instead choose to run and lie… serve’s him right he should man up to what he has done…

What a plank…

I concur. plank.

that trick used to work, but if you’re on camera it’s never going to. unless you have identical leathers.

twat

yes he is a numpty…

but police statement at the end makes me laugh:
“It was shocking but, sadly, not surprising to discover that some people will go to great and calculating lengths to avoid being caught by the police.”

He said some-else was riding… (stupid lie yes… but not great length or calculating…)
Coppers - All the google to track her down, state trooper to find and question her… warrant drawn up to seize his leathers… all for someone who ran from doing just over 20 over the limit…

And yet he was going to great lenghts!! Nice to know tax payers money is going to good use - think how much that all cost… and that he is taking the place in prison that a bank robber, murderer etc could have been put in… and if he was the wage-earner in the famaily - we now are providing benefits for the family on the outside…

Hmmmm - job well well done lads!

Dont agree with running etc… but some things are just not worth throwing that much money at. Cost/Benefit to society is bit out of whack IMO.

So This copper used resources available to him to capture someone who had evaded arrest ?
I think it was a job well done.
I’m sure if a “bank robber, murderer etc” is getting sentenced they won’t refuse them time as this bloke is taking up cell space.
You are right, it is us as taxpayers that will be paying for him / his family etc etc but what do you suggest ?

they just keep making more Muppets, is there a bottomless pit of them…?

Yep, it’s called ‘up north’

Sensible sentencing, community service whatever you can consider but jail is a stupid place to put him, no matter how evasive he was…this country has lost touch with who are the criminals and who are the naughty people just trying to have fun and do no one any harm…you can bleat all you like about speed limits and safety but its just pure drivel, with little evidence that speeding is in itself dangerous, and no real proof that this on going attempt to continually demonise the biker is anything other than prejudical To be honest it is all starting to get rather tedious.

He got jailed because he ran, and lied. If he had just coughed at the time he wouldn’t have gone to jail. In my opinion he got what he deserved.

Granted some offences should come with a jail sentence, but I agree with the judge on this one.

I agree with you about sensible sentencing, how can this be fair when you have crimes of violence against the person getting less in court.
I disagree about Jail being a stupid place to put him though, contrary to your post, this male is not just a speeder he attempted to evade Police and prosecution by running - itself inherently dangerous and then lying about it.

I’m not ‘bleating’ about speed, I don’t think I ever have, I’m a believer in that inappropriate speed for the circumstances is what causes problems and is extremely dangerous.

It was a calculated lie…he obviously thought she would be blamed but get no punishment due to being in the US. If you chose to break the law and get caught, you should accept the consequences. Total ****** in my opinion!

Well said Nonsence, proof if was needed that doctors and girls are not numpties de rigeur.

You are assuming this is a first and only offence -the article does not say what else he might have done in the past.
